From present day to five billion years into the future (or 5.5/apple/26 to use Russell T Davies’s whimsical terminology). In the far-flung future the Doctor takes Rose to witness the eponymous end of the world as it gets incinerated by our dying sun’s expansion into a red dwarf star. It’s nice to see a bit of scientific accuracy in Who, I love it my favourite TV show hits the marks like this. The End of the World is notable for a slew of mythos-building aspects from returning characters, locations and what will become the ‘New Earth’ time period.
